Welcome to the Beckington Church of England First School Web Page.

About Us

Beckington First School, which was built in 1852 is wholly maintained by Somerset Education Authority and the Church of England retains an interest in its management. The school caters for about seventy children between the ages of four and nine. At nine most children transfer to Selwood Middle School, in Frome, Somerset.

Beckington School offers a well structured curriculum, excellent teaching and a learning environment which is homely and friendly, as well as being educationally successful.

We hope that you will visit the school web site with interest and support and share in the celebrations of their successes.

We are proud of our School Song which sums up what we believe. It was written to celebrate the school's 150th anniversary in 2002.

If you would like to know what the tune is like there is a copy of the score in the link below.

At
Beckington we believe
Everyone is special.
Children are very important
people.
Kindness matters,
It's important to work together,
No-one should be made to feel sad.
God cares for us, he cares for us.
Teachers are there to help us too.
Our village is the best place for us
to live and grow,
Now we are learning to be the
best that we can be.
